Delivering A Better Library for Brighton

The remodelled Brighton Library is now open after undergoing a major makeover to update, supported by the Andrews Labor Government.

Member for Southern Metropolitan Nina Taylor today officially opened the redeveloped Brighton Library.

The Labor Government partnered with the Bayside City Council to deliver the $1.2 million project, providing $315,000 towards the improvements through the Living Libraries Infrastructure Program.

The $1.2 million refurbishment project has delivered new and improved study spaces, children’s areas and upgraded meeting rooms and program spaces.

The Brighton Library is the busiest of four libraries in the Bayside municipality, with 280,000 visits a year, and this refurbishment will ensure that the library can meet this demand.

The Government has invested more than $18 million dollars into 58 infrastructure projects through the Living Libraries Infrastructure Program, worth a collective $154 million.

“The remodelling of the Brighton Library will provide the community with improved access to study, reading and meeting spaces.”
