More than 1000 new homes and 4,500 jobs will be created through a first of its kind social housing partnership between our State Government, community housing organisations and the private sector.
Our State Government will lease land in Brighton (pictured), Flemington and Prahran to a consortium to build, operate and maintain housing on the sites for 40 years.
The project will build 1,110 new homes:
– 619 new social housing dwellings
– 126 affordable homes
– 365 market rental homes,
– Includes 52 Specialist Disability Accommodation dwellings
– Energy efficient
– Environmentally sustainable
– Have large communal green spaces
– This is on top of Victoria’s $5.3 Billion Big Housing Build.
At the end of the lease, the land and all 1,100 dwellings will come under the management of Homes Victoria
